Few Internet Users Purchase Online
Most payment card issuers already know that more than 90% of online purchases are made with a card. Making the card picture even rosier is new research that suggests Internet shopping has only just begun, even among those with Internet access. According to Jupiter Communications, the New York City-based research firm, among Internet users today, only 28% visit online stores, compared to 92.3% who access e-mail, 83.3% who use search engines and 55% who research products and services.
