zBox rolls out its delivery boxes in San Francisco

zBox Co. today announced it will roll-out the first of its smart home delivery boxes, the zBox, in San Francisco. This announcement follows the Postal Service's participation in successful zBox alpha and beta trials and extends the relationship between the Postal Service and zBox Company in the San Francisco Area. This step sets the stage for roll-out into additional markets. zBox Co. and the Postal Service will work together to ensure secure and efficient parcel deliveries into zBoxes at consumer households and to facilitate parcel returns using zBoxes. The Postal Service will integrate its Returns@Ease service into the zBox Co. web site for use by zBox customers. In addition, as a first step in joint promotional efforts, a display of the zBox smart home delivery box will be placed at several Bay Area post offices. More than 100 consumers participated in the six-week test in the San Francisco Area and collectively received more than 1,200 deliveries into prototype zBoxes during the test. They shopped with online retailers in the Company's ZEROship Network at www.zbox.com -- including Cooking.com, eve.com, and PlanetRx.com.
