Sharper Image hires a new merchandising chief and new legal chief

As it continues its rebuilding, Sharper Image Corp. announced executive changes last week.

Sharper Image, No. 122 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, has hired Andrew P. Reich as executive vice president, merchandising. He will report directly to Steven A. Lightman, CEO. He replaces William Feroe, who will leave the company at the end of August.

Reich joins Sharper Image from a 20-year career with May Co., where he was senior vice president and general merchandising manager from 2000 to 2006. From 1993-2000, Reich was vice president of electronics, tabletop, and stationery.

"We are pleased to have a merchant with Drew`s track record join the Sharper Image team," Lightman, said. "We are very fortunate to acquire his deep understanding of merchandising processes, procedures and disciplines, coupled with a career of proven results.”

Sharper Image also has hired James M. Sander as senior vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary. He joins Sharper Image from Holsworth Sander and Associates, a private law practice focused on corporate, commercial, litigation, franchising, FDA, FTC, regulatory and real estate. From 1988 to 2005, Sander was with General Nutrition Cos., most recently as senior vice president, chief legal officer and secretary.
