Dinosaurs Go Online
Jurassic Park DVDs and VHS tapes will get their own web store with the launch of jurassicpark.com. Consumers can log onto the site to pre-order the Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park in DVD and VHS formats, from mid-September up until the date the merchandise is expected to be in stores, Oct. 10. To create and maintain the online shopping destination, Universal Studios Home Video teamed up with Zengine, a single- source e commerce solutions provider that specializes in rapid deployment of e-businesses. Shoppers will also get a preview of the soon-to-come Jurassic Park III and links from the site to other Universal Studios products and services. "The collaboration reflects the growing trend toward complementing traditional offline merchandising and marketing with a comprehensive e-business strategy," says Randy Malinoff, vice president of Internet marketing at Universal Studios Home Video.
