Zbox jumps into a deal with Whirlpool
Major home appliance manufacturer Whirlpool Corp. and zBox Co., which markets a secure home delivery box, today announced an alliance to explore new solutions for unattended home delivery and returns. Zboxâs home delivery box is equipped with a 24-hour touch keypad and a proprietary access system that provides a changing access code for each package delivery. The box was developed to make home deliveries easier for consumers who may not be home to receive packages and to avoid having to pick up packages at delivery warehouses after redeliveries fail. Consumers also will be able to return goods via the zBox. Whirlpool says its market research shows that consumers are increasingly interested in finding solutions that can help them manage their homes more effectively. The two companies did not disclose details of the agreement.
