Motorola, MasterCard Promote Mobile E-Commerce

Card association MasterCard International is teaming up with mobile telecommunications giant Motorola Inc. to promote the use of wireless Internet devices for Internet purchases and financial transactions. The two companies, which will commit undisclosed resources to develop so called "m-commerce" for consumers worldwide, will collaborate on research and development to ensure interoperability between Motorola wireless devices and platforms and MasterCard's payment systems as well as "next-generation" m-commerce technologies. They will also do joint marketing to promote m-commerce, although the companies did not provide details.
