PC Connection names head of consumer, business and government sales

PC Connection Inc., online and direct seller of technology products, has named Peter Cannone senior vice president of sales, overseeing PC Connection Sales Corp., which is responsible for consumer sales, MoreDirect Inc. and GovConnection Inc.

PC Connection also has named Timothy McGrath to succeed Cannone as president of PC Connection Sales Corp.

Cannone joined PC Connection in 1999. For the past year, he has been president of PC Connection Sales Corp., the company`s largest subsidiary. Before joining PC Connection, Cannone was divisional vice president of the Value Added Reseller Channel for Merisel Inc. where he managed the company`s $1 billion national selling organization. He also has been senior vice president of sales for the U.S. operation of MicroWarehouse.

McGrath most recently was executive vice president of sales at Insight North America, where he was responsible for the North American business sales division, including planning and directing all aspects of sales, marketing, and account and division development.

PC Connection Sales Corp. sells more than 100,000 brand-name products to businesses through PCConnection.com and MacConnection.com, outbound sales account managers, catalog telesales representatives and catalogs PC Connection and MacConnection. GovConnection sells to federal, state and local government agencies, and educational institutions. MoreDirect sells to corporate technology buyers with a web-based e-procurement systems and an IT supply-chain system which aggregates more than 300,000 products from IT wholesale distributors and manufacturers.
