A HREF="http://www.800.com">800.Com, Inc., an online retailer of consumer electronics and home entertainment products, has forged an agreement with DiscoverMusic.com to enable consumers to preview music samples before purchasing CDs or cassettes on the 800.com Web site. Under the agreement with DiscoverMusic.com, customers go to the 800.com music store to sample selected songs in various music categories, such as pop/rock, blues, country and easy listening. Customers can choose from approximately five different 30-second song samples per CD using the Real Audio Player. If the customer does not already have a player, it can be downloaded at no charge.

DiscoverMusic.com recently signed license agreements in the United States with BMG Entertainment, Universal Music Group, Warner Music and worldwide with EMI Recorded Music in order to provide a wide variety of music. Customers of Portland, Ore.-based 800.com will have access to selected tracks provided by all four of these major record labels, in addition to others.
