ModeZone Fashions Funding Deal, Board
ModeZone.com, the full-service virtual mart for the fashion industry, has closed its Series A round of funding and has announced its board of directors. Los Angeles-based ModeZone.com is an Internet marketplace automating the sales and buying functions of the wholesale apparel, footwear and accessories industries.
ModeZone says it is positioned to shorten the industry's buying and selling cycles and to create a "virtual sales force" for manufacturers and a "virtual buying office" for retailers. ModeZone's services include virtual showrooms and online purchase orders, which it calls Smart P.O.s. In addition to these services, ModeZone features updated fashion-related news, trend forecasting and fashion community highlights, as well as lists of global trade shows.
The board includes David Cremin of Zone Ventures, Renee LaBran of TMCT Ventures, L.P. and Al Osborne, professor of Entrepreneurial studies at the Price Center at the Anderson School at UCLA.
Zone Ventures, TMCT Ventures, L.P., Draper Richards and E*Capital are among the investors in ModeZone.
