Home Depot Hones In On E-Commerce
LifeMinders.com Inc. and The Home Depot today announced an agreement making LifeMinders.com the personalized e-mail
engine on Home Depot's new customer-driven Web site. This strategic alliance
combines Home Depot's home improvement expertise with LifeMinders.com's
ability to deliver targeted, personalized e-mails to a large member base. The
partnership will also be a significant element of Home Depot's "Home Team"
relationship building effort.
Over the past year, LifeMinders.com has worked with The Home Depot to
develop HomeMinder(R), an e-mail-based service delivering seasonal advice,
home improvement tips and how-to's. To date, HomeMinder has attracted over
725,000 subscribers.
To receive timely tips and information about home repair and gardening,
interested Internet users can visit the Homedepot.com or the LifeMinders.com
homepage. The registration processes on both sites are coordinated, so a
member can fill out a profile identifying interests from either site and await
the arrival of their HomeMinders. When subscribers fill out a member profile
for LifeMinders Home, Yard & Garden, they can also give permission for
LifeMinders.com to share their profile information with The Home Depot and be
automatically registered for the HomeTeam, an online community of do-it-
yourselfers. HomeMinder is a seamless overlay to the Home Depot site
registration, so members only have to enter their preferences once to receive
both personalized home pages as a member of Homedepot.com's Home Team and
HomeMinder e-mails.
