Mobile coupon company Cellfire names a new head of retail sales
Cellfire, provider of mobile-device-based coupons, has named Ken Karnes vice president of retail sales. Cellfire is a free service to consumers that provides mobile coupons and discounts.
Karnes has 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the restaurant, retail, and e-commerce industries. He will be responsible for developing and maintaining retailer relationships, forging partnerships and working with retailers to develop business solutions.
He most recently was vice president of business development for ADVO, the direct mail marketing company which counts 17,000 national, regional and local retailers and its customer base and reaches 90% of U.S. households. Prior to ADVO, Karnes worked with The Coca-Cola Co. for 18 years, holding management positions in National Accounts and Field Sales.
The explosion of mobile commerce is one of the topics at Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition, June 4-7 in San Jose. Levi Shaprio, director of the Los Angeles operations for mobile research company Telephia, and Rajiv Jain, senior vice president & CTO of American Greetings’ AG Interactive, are speaking in a session entitled Mobile Commerce is Happening—and Retailers Better Get Ready for It.
