GERS Retail System hires a new president and CEO

GERS Retail Systems, a provider of enterprise software for retailers, has hired Stewart M. Bloom as president and CEO. He replaces former GERS president and CEO James Henderson.

“Bloom has joined the company with a focus on increasing GERS’ customer value in the market, expanding the footprint of the company, and setting the stage for the next generation of growth,” the company said in announcing the appointment.

Bloom most recently was vice president, technology strategy for consultants Capgemini, where he served clients in the consumer product and retail industry segments. He previously was partner for e-business transformation in the management-consulting unit of Ernst & Young LLP, which was acquired by Capgemini, and senior vice president, strategy consulting for Mainspring Inc., a consulting firm with many clients in the consumer goods and retail industries.

“Between retail store, online, and catalog channels, our customers are under immense pressure to compete in crowded markets,” Bloom said. “We are intensely focused on maximizing the shopping experience for their customers while helping to quickly improve business performance at all levels of their business.”

GERS is owned Symphony Technology Group.
