ShopNBC’s web sales grow 60%

Web-based sales at ValueVision Media, operator of ShopNBC, grew 60% to $24 million in the third quarter vs. last year’s Q3, the company says in preliminary sales reports released this week. Total sales grew 23% over Q3 2001 to $135 million, the company said. Web sales now account for 18% of sales vs. 14% a year ago.

“The third quarter continued with strong overall sales performance, although the first seven weeks of the period continued to be impacted by the problems arising from the implementation of our systems conversion from the previous quarter, which have been largely resolved,” said Gene McCaffery, ValueVision Media chairman and CEO.

The company will report final sales figures Nov. 19.
