Buylink, X.com Form Partnership

Wholesale specialty consumer product marketplace Buylink Corp. and online payments network X.com have created a partnership that will provide an "instant" payment capability to Buylink's more than 8,300 retail subscribers and more then 3,000 vendors.

Through this partnership, Buylink becomes one of Palo Alto, Calif.-based X.com's first business-to-business-focused partners. X.com will provide a value-added service to the Buylink community through a business version of its PayPal person-to-person payment solution.

Buylink users will now be able to send and collect payments for their transactions "instantly," which the company says will result in a "more convenient, faster and streamlined sales transaction."

The new service, scheduled to launch on Buylink.com in early August, will allow Buylink's vendor subscribers to provide their retail customers with an additional option to pay online.

South San Francisco, Calif.-based Buylink's retailer subscribers will now be able to send "instant" payments, charged to their credit card or debited from their bank account, to any vendor with a U.S. email address. There will be no charge to Buylink's retail subscribers for sending online payments with X.com's service, the companies say.
