Sportsman’s Guide web sales grow 46% in first 9 months

Internet sales at The Sportsman's Guide Inc. accounted for 30% of the company’s total sales in the third quarter, reaching $11 million, the South St. Paul, MN-based retailer of outdoor gear reported today. It’s the second consecutive quarter that web sales reached 30% of all sales.

Q3 Internet sales were up 44.5% from $7.7 million in Q3 last year, when web sales accounted for 21% of total sales. Company wide sales reached $36.9 million in Q3, up 1% from Q3 a year ago when sales totaled $36.5 million.

In the first nine months of the year, Internet sales totaled $32.9 million, or 29% of total sales of $113.5 million. Web sales were 21% of last year’s total sales of $107.2 million, amounting to $22.5 million. For the nine months, web sales grew 46% vs. 5.9% for total sales.

Q3 net earnings totaled $269,000 compared to a net loss of $124,000 a year earlier.
