Expansion "R" Them

As a few online toy retailers pack their bags, Toys "R" Us is expanding its administrative and warehouse operations. The company says it will add more staff and open new offices in New Jersey and the San Francisco Bay area by late summer. The company's Fort Lee, N.J., office will house 240 employees by 2001. The company is still working on securing an office on the West Coast. Toysrus.com also plans to triple its fulfillment capacity by opening distribution centers in Mira Loma, Calif., and Chambersburg, Penn., in addition to expanding its warehouse in Memphis, Tenn.
