FogDog Launches Women's Sports Site

In an apparent bid to compete with Lucy.com and other sites geared toward women, sporting goods e-retailer Fogdog Sports has opened a sub-site for active women featuring both merchandise and information. The site, her.fogdog.com will carry apparel and gear ranging from Mary Pierce's French Open tennis outfit to products built specifically for a woman's shape and metabolic rate, such as backpacks, wetsuits, wakeboards and sleeping bags.

     The site features an active lifestyle store, a comprehensive sports bra section, six specialty her.sports stores and sale section. On the content side, it includes advice columns, articles about sports gear and discussion groups.
