E-retail veteran Jeffrey Branman joins investment company PetskyPrunier


Petsky Prunier LLC, a specialty investment bank providing merger and acquisition advisory services to marketing companies and is increasing its investments in e-retailers, has hired Internet retailing veteran M. Jeffrey Branman, ex-CEO of FootLocker.com, as a managing director.

Branman most recently was president of Interactive Technology Partners LLC, a venture capital joint venture of QVC Inc. and Comcast Corp., where he oversaw investments in electronic commerce services and technology, supply chain integration services and technology, specialty media and interactive television businesses. Portfolio companies included GSI Commerce Inc., Commerce Technologies Inc., Scene7 Inc. and The Knot Inc. He also was senior corporate development executive for QVC, No. 14 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, with responsibility for strategic partnerships, mergers & acquisitions, and interactive television technology.

At Petsky Prunier, Branman will work with senior management, clients, prospective buyers and analysts to manage transactions and processes around investments in Internet retail, catalog and Internet services.

“Jeff is an accomplished leader in his field and brings tremendous strengths to our firm,” says cofounder Michael Petsky, who is speaking at Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition, June 4-7 in San Jose, in a session June 5, 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. entitled E-Merger Mania: Making Sure the Acquisition Is Right for You. “He will become an important member of our management team and his knowledge and expertise in Internet retailing will add to our capabilities as we continue to focus on the growing multi-channel retail industry.”

Before founding Interactive Technology Partners, Branman was CEO of FootLocker.com, No. 44 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, where he built the business to $200 million in combined Internet and catalog sales organically and through the acquisition of cataloger Eastbay, Inc. He was also senior vice president of corporate development for Foot Locker Inc. FootLocker.com/Eastbay.com web aplications manager Tim Wolfe will speak at Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition, June 4-7 in San Jose, June 7 in a workshop entitled Search & Destroy: Removing Obstacles to Site Effectiveness.

Prior to Foot Locker, Branman was an investment banker focused on the retailing and merchandising businesses at Financo Inc., where he served as managing director and partner, and at Credit Suisse First Boston Inc., where he was head of the Retail Industry M&A Practice.
