Apparel retailers give dial-up users the fastest access in August
Apparel and accessories retailers provided customers with dial-up connections the fastest access time in August, says Gomez Inc.
Gomez Inc. notes that customers with a dial-up connection could visit an apparel retailer’s site in about 46.75 seconds, compared to specialty/other retailers (48.08 seconds), mass merchants (50.94 seconds), and computers and electronics retailers (57.06 seconds).
When their site is accessed by a high broadband connection, apparel and accessories retailers provided the fastest average access at 5.55 seconds, Gomez says. The next fastest web retailing category was specialty/other retailers (5.83 seconds), followed by mass merchants (5.84 seconds), and computers and electronics (7.01 seconds).
