Proflowers.com posts 39% increase in Q1 revenue

Proflowers Inc.’s Proflowers.com, which sells flowers shipped directly from growers, posted $9.3 million in revenue for the first quarter ended Sept. 30, up 39% from $6.7 million in the year-earlier period, the company said today. It attributed the growth to an increasing rate of returning customers as well as an expansion of its customer base.

"We are extremely pleased with our increased revenue and sales for the first quarter," said CEO Bill Strauss. "With the continued strength of the e-commerce sector, in addition to our expansion of distribution channels and continued gains in customer acquisition, we are looking forward to a very successful year."

Proflowers said it also saw a Q1 year-to-year increase of 38% in sales through b2b channels.
