Williams-Sonoma Inc. is reporting another quarter of solid web sales. For the second quarter of 2005, Williams-Sonoma, No. 20 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, put up web sales of $172.8 million, an increase of 32.2% from e-commerce sales of $130.7 million for the same quarter in 2004.
In the second quarter, the web accounted for about 40% of the company’s direct marketing sales which totaled $342.1 million, an increase of 11.5% from $306.8 million in the second quarter of 2004.
Williams-Sonoma says e-commerce sales are up because of the launch of its Hold Everything web site. The new web store, which Williams-Sonoma launched in late 2004, sells furniture and home furnishings merchandise.
