Top 50 retail sites generate consistent response times in January

Dell in January provided the fastest response time for customers accessing the site using a high broadband connection, says Gomez Inc.

At 3.10 seconds Dell was followed by Zappos (3.17 seconds), OfficeMax (3.86 seconds) and Chadwicks (4.10 seconds).

Using a dial-up connection, Quixtar provided the fastest site response time at 40.30 seconds.

In December, a shopper with a high broadband connection could access a Top 50 retail site in 6.07 seconds, compared with 15.96 seconds for a low broadband connection and 59.44 seconds for dial-up.
