American Greetings unveils the first sites in its niche strategy
American Greetings has launched the first two of a series of specialized web sites to go after niche markets. This week its web unit, AG Interactive Inc., launched BloombyAG.com, aimed at women 25 to 40. American Greetings says its target market is women “who are balancing career, family, friends and self, and are seeking clever e-cards to help them stay connected while managing their very full lives.”
Last week, AmericanGreetings.com launched HatterChatter.com, for women 50+, “designed to speak to their zest for life and love of laughter.” American Greetings says that market is 47 million strong.
BloombyAG.com offers more than 300 e-cards. An annual subscription for $9.99 enables customers to send an unlimited number of cards. The site also features the ability to share photos and video in e-cards.
HatterChatter.com offers more than 30 original e-cards. Its annual subscription costs $6.99, also with no limit on the number of cards a customer can send.
American Greetings, No. 145 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, says HatterChatter.com was the first of a series of new sites appealing to specific market niches.
