REDLINE NETWORKS BOOSTS FIGLEAVES.COM

Online Retailer Uses Redline to Increase Stability, Enhance Security, and Improve Performance

Campbell, Calif., Nov. 8, 2004 - Redline Networks, Inc., a company that designs and manufactures network appliances that maximize the performance, flexibility, and scalability of Web applications, today announced that figleaves.com has deployed Redline T|X Web I/O processors to optimize Web site performance and provide an extra layer of security.

Established in 1998, figleaves.com has quickly become the world`s largest online retailer of branded intimate apparel. The company offers 4,000 pieces of branded underclothes, swimwear, exercise wear, nightwear, and hosiery to a growing international customer base - over 50,000 customers in 66 countries.

"Without the T|X we would have had to buy several additional Web servers to get us through the 2004 Christmas rush," said Michael Devlin, Web site and Security Manager at Figleaves. "The improvement that the Redline T|X appliances made was as dramatic as it was immediate. As soon as we deployed Redline, we removed the need for software-based compression at the Web servers and offloaded the overhead required in creating and tearing down SSL connections and the lower level TCP/IP connections. The increase in the Web site capacity was remarkable. It more than doubled our peak load capacity."

According to figleaves.com, the Redline multi-purpose processor provides figleaves.com with a robust and reliable level of failover and resilience. In addition, the company said the Redline appliance allows figleaves.com the ability to maintain optimum Web site performance and increase control of the Web environment, while at the same time reducing bandwidth and hardware expenditure.

"From the outset it was clear that Redline could cost effectively meet all of our current needs and is yet flexible and scaleable enough to provide even more benefit in the future," added Devlin. "We were impressed with the ease of deployment - the entire process, from initial review to installation, took just six weeks. I would heartily recommend Redline to anyone who is looking to optimize performance while reducing infrastructure costs and complexity."
