It’s BYOC for Buy.com’s local area network party
Buy.com, No. 36 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, is throwing itself a 10th anniversary local area network party and video game festival. Party planners hope to attract gamers, techies and other online customers.
The Buy.com party will include competitive and casual video game tournaments for PC and console, a private 200-seat BYOC area and exhibit booths from technology vendors. Tens of thousands of dollars in cash and sponsor product prizes will be handed out to tournament participants during the event, the company says. The party is at the Hyatt Regency in Anaheim, Calif., from March 30 to April 1, and will include stage shows, raffles and contests for spectators.
The party is a show of appreciation for Buy.com customers and video gamers, says Herb Criscito, vice president of sales and merchandising. The web-only retailer sells computer hardware and software, electronics, games, movies and books, among other products. Those interested in attending the event can find registration details and buy tickets on the web site.
