ToolKing starts a lunch-time daily deal

Building on the notion that consumers shop online from work, ToolKing.com on Friday launched a lunch-time special promotion. ToolKing, No. 282 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, is pitching the promotion as “Daily Deals” and says the prices of the specials will be near cost.

The promotion will be available for Monday through Friday from noon to 2 p.m., Eastern time. Don Cohen, managing director of ToolKing, tells InternetRetailer.com that the deals are part of an effort to attract more consumer buying at the site. “Our sales right now are tilted toward the commercial buyer; we are trying to attract more consumers and a lot of them shop during their lunch hour,” he says.

Cohen says ToolKing is on track to grow sales 35% this year and he expects to be a $100-million-a-year retailer within three years.
