Bargain-finder DealTime.com buffs up search to help shoppers find it
Deal-hunting site DealTime.com searches other web sites for bargains, but its search strategy was falling short in delivering shoppers to its own site. Within nine months it attracted 2 million new qualified shoppers, got consistent first-page rankings at major search engines, and grew its conversion rate to 10% after implementing solutions from search marketing firm iCrossing Inc., DealTime reports.
The dynamic architecture of the site, which constantly crawls millions of products available on the web to identify bargains, made it difficult for search engines to recognize and grab the content that would post it high in search results. iCrossing optimized DealTime`s platform on the back end to make it easier for the engines to find and grab relevant content. It also optimized keywords so as to drive visitors using query results directly to the most relevant landing page within the site, which streamlines the path to purchase in the process.
In addition, iCrossing also managed XML data feeds directly from DealTime into key search engines, ensuring that relevant content would be indexed by the engines for consideration in search results. The combined effort pushed DealTime into a spot in the web’s top-five shopping destinations according to Nielsen/NatRatings, iCrossing says.
