AceHardware.com is the place for multi-channel marketing
Ace Hardware Corp. is making multi-channel marketing a key theme of its 2007 web strategy.
A newly redesigned AceHardware.com can be personalized to feature a picture of the nearest Ace store or the store manager on the home page. The page might also feature merchandise and promotions exclusive to that particular store, the company says.
“We give customers the ability to choose their local store and have that store present on the home page every time they return to the site,” says Dana Kevish, interactive marketing manager for Ace. “We attempt to show them their closest stores on the home page when they first visit the site.”
Ace, No. 453 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, also is adding more programs such as product ratings and reviews, a Google maps application to enhance the store locator button and more rich media using a program from Scene7 Inc.
Ace, which uses GSI Commerce Inc. as its third-party e-commerce provider, grew web sales 29% in 2006 to $8 million.
