ShopNBC.com’s sales grew 37% in the first quarter to $33.39 million from a year ago, parent ValueVision Media reported today. Web sales accounted for 21% of all ValueVision’s sales.
ValueVision’s net sales reached a first-quarter record of $159 million, up 11% over a year ago. Net loss was $8 million in the first quarter. Companywide unit sales were up 42% over Q1 a year ago.
Meanwhile, CheckChecks.com, a site that sells blank checks to business, reported that first quarter sales were up 11.6% vs. a year ago, on top of a 31.2% increase last year over the year before. The company has sold business checks online since 2001.
