Online retail spending grows 19% for week ending May 2
Online consumer retail spending continued its unbroken string of $1 billion weeks this year, hitting $1.07 billion for the week ending May 2, up 19% from $903 million in the corresponding week a year ago, comScore Networks Inc. reports
Total retail sales for the week ending May 1 declined 11.5% from the same week in 2003, ShopperTrak’s National Retail Sales Estimate reports. Total sales that week, however, were at their highest level since the week ending March 20, ShopperTrak says.
Online travel spending for the week ending May 2 increased 2% to $818 million from $801, comScore reports.
