eBay leads in visits to computer/consumer electronics sites, Nielsen says
The eBay Electronics section of eBay.com led all computer and consumer electronics web sites in number of unique visitors, with 1.9 million, for the week ended May 9, topping second-ranked BestBuy.com by 38%, Nielsen/NetRatings reports.
BestBuy.com had 1.4 million visitors, followed by Sony Electronics (SonyStyle.com), with 1 million; CircuitCity.com, 668,000; Sony.com, 616,000; OSDN, 437,000; eAcceleration, 374,000; Radio Shack, 336,000; TigerDirect.com, 335,000; and CompUSA.com, 325,000.
TigerDirect led in the average amount of time per visit, at 10 minutes, 13 seconds, followed by eBay Electronics at 8 minutes, 13 seconds; BestBuy.com, 7 minutes, 14 seconds; Sony Electronics, 7 minutes, 3 seconds; CircuitCity.com, 6 minutes, 22 seconds; Sony.com, 5 minutes, 50 seconds; CompUSA.com, 5 minutes, 39 seconds; eAcceleration, 5 minutes, 9 seconds; Radio Shack, 4 minutes, 36 seconds, and OSDN, 2 minutes, 58 seconds.
Nielsen noted that, among age groups, consumers aged 45+ accounted for the largest share of visitors, at 41%, followed by ages 35-49, 32%; ages 55+, 21%; and ages 25-34, 18%.
Among household income groups, the largest share of visitors came from the range $50,000-$74,999, at 29%; followed by $25,000-$49,999, 27%; and $75,000-$99,999, 16%.
For the same week, 1-800-Flowers.com Inc. led all retail goods and services advertisers in number of online ad impressions, not surprisingly since that was the week leading up to Mother`s Day.
