Albertsons.com gears up for a Super Sunday
Many couch potatoes watching the Super Bowl on Sunday won’t even get the exercise of a trip to the supermarket for snacks, reports supermarket chain Alberstons Inc.
"We are receiving exceptionally heavy demand for Sunday e-commerce deliveries," said Charla Giles, area vice president for the Albertsons district based in San Diego. "It seems that people just don`t want to leave their homes this Sunday.”
Giles said the local Albertsons.com operation has added drivers and vehicles in anticipation of what it expects to be the biggest e-commerce day of the year. She says managers in other areas throughout the west where Albertsons offers online shopping report a similar phenomenon.
