GPN Version 3.0 adds deep diagnostics, extensive self-service functionality to industry leading real-time monitoring environment
Waltham, MA, April 12, 2002 -- Gómez, Inc., the Internet Quality Measurement firm, has released the latest version of its Gómez Performance Network Web performance monitoring service that serves the complex data analysis needs of technical and business organizations.
Version 3.0 adds substantial features to a service utilized extensively by professionals who require deep-level diagnostic capabilities, real-time alerting and daily reporting. The new features make complex performance data analysis easier and extend GPN’s industry leading self-service functionality. Over forty enhancements were made to the GPN product, most as a result of client feedback. They include:
* Alerting –- Seven real-time alerting capabilities (from response time and failure through content notification alerts) are now augmented with frequency interval setting and content matching validation alerting. GPN alerts feature a unique "three dimensional" design that provides customized notification and reduces false positives.
* Benchmarking Report -- Industry standards by which enterprises can accurately assess their Web site performance in relation to competitors are generated in colorful, easy to read daily reports. These reports that present competitive comparisons, performance assessments and trending analysis can be customized for customers’ complex data analysis needs.
* Charting and Histogram -- Mouse-over text boxes show performance outliers at a glance, with the ability to drill down on data anomalies. GPN users can now configure charts for data presentation and modeling for deeper analysis.
* Self-service -- In addition to the existing self-provisioning capabilities, GPN clients can now configure specific expiration dates for any tests performed.
* Java Script and HTTP 1.1 -– GPN customers can now monitor page and object availability of Web sites that use these critical application development and communication protocols.
Increasingly, enterprises of all sizes are demanding higher service levels from their service providers. "These new features allow us to better manage our internal and external service level agreements that are a critical element to our service offering," said Mehdi Daoudi, Vice President of Quality of Service Operations at online advertising services giant Doubleclick Inc. in New York.
"Version 3.0 is a direct result of the feedback from our growing enterprise customer base. The new capabilities are offered to further extend the value proposition of the Gómez Benchmark and Diagnostic services by providing better peer group performance comparisons, as well as improved visualization of potential performance problems collected by our real-time global performance network," commented Jeff Banker, Vice President of the Gómez Performance Network.
