Build-A-Bear Workshop’s Q1 web sales increase 16.6% year-over-year
Internet sales at Build-A-Bear Workshop rose 16.6% year-over-year to $2.5 million in the first quarter, the retailer reports. Online sales represented 2.5% of total sales.
By comparison, total Q1 sales rose 14.5% to $98.6 million, up from $86.1 million a year earlier. Q1 comparable store sales dropped 3.8%.
First quarter net income increased 3.8% to $8.3 million from $8 million in 2005’s first quarter.
Build-A-Bear, No. 332 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, reaffirmed its previous guidance for fiscal 2006 of earnings per share of between $1.44 and $1.53.
