Norm Thompson Outfitters’ web sales jog ahead by 6%


Norm Thompson Outfitters Inc., an online and catalog retailer of apparel, home furnishings, and outdoor sporting and camping products, reports web sales of $73.8 million for 2006, up 6% compared to $69.6 million in 2005.

Norm Thompson, No. 117 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, recorded online sales of $27.6 million on NormThompson.com. The direct marketer has one stand-alone store, one in Portland, Ore.’s airport and three outlet stores. It also sells through its catalog division. 33% of NormThompson.com sales come from the web.

Two other e-commerce sites in the Norm Thompson Outfitters family are Solutions.com and Sahalie.com. Solutions.com, Thompson’s rebranded SolutionsCatalog.com, carries home and outdoor furnishings and home products including cooking supplies, storage organizers, and yard and garden. Products are available online, via catalog and at the Solutions outlet store.

SolutionsCatalog.com’s web sales were $28.8 million for 2006 and represented 40% of the brand’s business.

Sahalie.com features specialty outdoor and leisure clothes, shoes and accessories for hikers, campers and runners. Sahalie.com web sales were $17.4 million, 48% of the unit’s total sales. The remainder comes from its catalogs.
