Online spending returned to double-digit growth rates at the end of January, after growing in the single digits earlier in the month, comScore Networks Inc. reports.
For the week ending Jan. 26, consumers spent $965 million at e-retail sites, 25% more than the same week a year ago, comScore says. The spending rate was 40% over the average $702 million per week for the first two weeks of the year.
Total retail spending for the week grew 4.9% over year-earlier levels, reports Shopper Trak’s National Retail Sales Estimate.
Consumers spent $734 million in online travel arrangements that week, 54% more than they spent in the same week a year ago, comScore reports.
