Systemax’s web sales grow twice as fast as total sales

Internet sales at Systemax Inc., which operates computer site TigerDirect.com, were up 26% in 2006 vs. 2005, to $819 million from $650 million. Companywide sales were up 11% to $2.3 billion from $2.1 billion. The Internet represents 35.6% of all Systemax sales in the most recent year vs. 30.9% a year earlier. Net income for the year reached $45 million, up 295% from the year before.

Fourth quarter web sales were $235 million, up 16% from the year earlier Q4; total sales were $648 million, up 11%. The web accounted for 36.3% of Q4 sales. Net income was $8 million, up 136%.
