Consulting services for the implementation of EAN•UCC System standards
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. December 8, 2004 — The Uniform Code Council, Inc.® (UCC®), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the development and implementation of global standards for the improvement of supply and demand chains, announced today that it has launched its UCC Solution Partner Program’s EAN.UCC Bar Code Consultant certification in EAN.UCC System standards. The new certification is designed to provide the UCC community with a resource pool of trained and certified solution partners who can assist with implementation tasks, such as creating identification numbers and printing bar codes, compliant to the EAN.UCC System standards.
The EAN.UCC Bar Code Consultant program trains, tests, and certifies individuals, which allows their organization to offer education and services for implementing the standards of the EAN.UCC System (Application Identifiers (AI), approved symbologies and specifications such as EAN/UPC and Reduced Space Symbology®).
“The new EAN.UCC Bar Code Consultant certification program answers some of the biggest challenges companies face when searching for a consultant or organization to help implement the standards of the EAN.UCC System,” said Dennis Harrison, president of EAN.UCC and senior vice president of the UCC. “Now, companies can easily identify solution partners who can assist them in implementing EAN.UCC System identification numbers and bar codes. And, companies can move forward confidently knowing that the UCC is managing this certification program.”
The UCC Solution Partner Program™ increases awareness, adoption, and implementation of UCC standards by facilitating a partnership between the UCC and solution providers to produce standards-compliant, “off-the-shelf” implementation solutions for the expanding UCC community. The UCC Solution Partner Program currently certifies products and services in the areas of the EAN.UCC System, UCCnet™, and RosettaNet, and plans to offer EPCglobal US™ certifications by early 2005.
In addition to the EAN.UCC Bar Code Consultant certification, the UCC Solution Partner Program offers solution providers an opportunity to become certified in the following EAN.UCC System categories: EAN.UCC Bar Code Software, EAN.UCC Plate Makers, and EAN.UCC Printer Hardware, EAN.UCC Scanners and EAN.UCC Verifiers.
The following have achieved EAN.UCC Bar Code Consultant certification: Tracy Warman from AccuGraphiX, Jerry Whiting from Azalea Software, Inc., Andrew Verb from Bar Code Graphics, Inc., Caroline Cheves from Stratix Corporation, Guillermo Barrera Fierro from Supply Chain Flow Consultants LLC, Chris Gray and George Wright IV from Product Identification & Processing Systems, Inc. (PIPS), and Chris Cummins and Mary Cummins from WorldTree Systems.
