Gross merchandise sales processed for certified merchants at auction site uBid.com rose 21% to $13.8 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 2006, as full-year 2006 merchant sales increased 33% to $46.2 million, uBid.com Holdings Inc. reports.
UBid reported a Q4 net loss of $170,000, compared to a net loss of $2.6 million a year ago, and a full-year 2006 net loss of $7.6 million, down from a net loss of $9 million in 2005.
The number of merchants participating in uBid’s certified merchant program totaled 2,049 at the end of 2006, up 226% from about 628 merchants a year earlier.
The number of auctions conducted in Q4 increased 47% year-over-year to 580,000 from 395,000. uBid counted 57,000 registered customers at the end of 2006.
