AT&T is taking Napster To Go along for the wireless ride
AT&T consumers with qualifying telephone service soon will be able to customize playlists on their PC and transfer favorite tunes to compatible wireless phones and music devices. The service is the fruit of an agreement between AT&T and Napster To Go.
Beginning April 1, qualifying AT&T wireless and broadband customers can access Napster To Go’s 3 million song tracks within the phone service provider’s wireless service area footprint. The deal also applies to AT&T’s 22-state traditional service area with qualifying wireless, home phone and broadband triple-pack bundles. Customers can access tunes on PCs, wireless phones and other compatible music devices.
The deal saves AT&T customers $180, says Napster, which is No. 100 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
The offer will be available to new or existing AT&T wireless customers outside of the AT&T local service territory who sign a two-year wireless service agreement with purchase of one of two Samsung phones. The offer also affects new and existing residential AT&T customers across the company’s 22-state traditional service territory where broadband service is available, with any of several packages that combine Internet and phone services.
AT&T will support the promotional offers with an integrated marketing campaign including broadcast, print and online advertising, and in-store merchandising at all AT&T wireless retail locations, the company says.
