The leading computer/consumer electronics sites in mid June

With Father’s Day just around the corner, Nielsen/NetRatings ranked the leading computer and consumer electronics web sites for the week ended June 13. The eBay Electronics section of eBay.com led all computer and consumer electronics web sites in number of unique visitors, with 1.8 million, for the week, topping second-ranked BestBuy.com, which hosted 1.57 million visitors, Nielsen/NetRatings reports.

Next were Sony Electronics, with 1.1 million; CircuitCity.com, 693,000; Sony.com, 524,000; OSDN, 456,000; TigerDirect.com, 357,000; and Radio Shack, 327,000.

The average visitor to a computer/consumer electronics site stayed for 8 minutes, 4 seconds.

Nielsen noted that, among age groups, consumers aged 45+ accounted for the largest share of visitors, at 40%, followed by ages 35-49, 30.5%; 55+, 19.7; and 25-34, 20%.

For the same week, Netflix Inc. led all retail goods and services advertisers in number of online ad impressions.

The top 10 and their number of impressions, according to Nielsen’s AdRelevance report:

• Amazon.com Inc., 153.6 million
• Classmates Online Inc., 142.3 million
• Terra Lycos, 127.9 million
• Best Buy, 97.1 million
• eBay Seller, 83.2 million
• eBay Inc., 60.7 million
• AllPosters.com, 59.6 million
• Target Corp., 56.9 million
• Ace Hardware, 55.9 million.
