Albertsons.com expands into Sacramento
Albertsons.com, the online grocery store of Albertsons Inc., has expanded into Sacramento, where it will serve customers in 80 ZIP codes. Albertsons.com now serves ten major metropolitan areas in California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Texas, and Pennsylvania. It claims the largest geographic reach of any online grocery provider in the United States.
Online orders placed by midnight will be delivered by 10 a.m. the following day. In addition, online orders placed by 10 a.m. can be picked up at selected Albertsons locations after 5 p.m. the same day. Albertsons.com, No. 152 on Internet Retailer`s Top 300 Guide to online retail sites, charges $9.95 for door-to-door delivery and $4.95 for pick up at one of 20 Albertsons stores in the Sacramento area. Orders are filled from inventory at select stores.
