Online sales rise 33% year-over-year for week ended June 20
Online retail sales for the week ended June 20 rose to $1.09 billion, a 33% increase over the $820 million in the comparable week a year ago, comScore Networks Inc. reports. This marked the second consecutive week that online retail sales rose above the billion-dollar mark, following the only two-week period this year when online sales dipped below $1 billion.
By comparison, total retail sales rose 15.1% for the week ended June 19, sparked by Father’s Day activity, reports ShopperTrak’s National Retail Sales Estimate.
Online travel sales for the week ended June 20 reached $923 million, up 6% from $873 million in the comparable week a year ago, comScore says.
