Meet Domestications` new boss, same as the old boss

Charlie Pellenberg has been named president of Hanover Direct Inc.’s Domestications unit. Domestications operates a web site and a catalog. Pellenberg was the founder of Domestications, which he started after joining Hanover Direct in 1983. In 1993, he added responsibility for The Company Store to his duties after Hanover Direct acquired that company.

For the last seven years, Pellenberg has been senior vice president of the Home/Lifestyles division of Brylane LP, where he created the BrylaneHome catalog.

Until now, Domestications and The Company Store have been under a single management. Pellenberg’s hiring represents the separation of the two operations. “Domestications and The Company Store are too big and diverse to compete for the same management resources and, as a result, we felt it was important to put Domestications back under separate management," said Wayne Garten, president and CEO of Hanover Direct, No. 59 in Internet Retailer’s Top 300 Guide to Internet retailers.
