UCCnet sees growth among toys, office supplies


The benefits of synchronized data integration are no longer just for retailers and suppliers in the grocery industry, a UCCnet official tells InternetRetailer.com. "Within weeks or months, we`ll see participation from companies in toys and office suppliers coming under UCCnet," says Dan Staresinic, UCCnet`s vice president of industry solutions, consumer products goods. The benefits of synchronized data integration is no longer just for retailers and suppliers in the grocery industry, a UCCnet official tells InternetRetailer.com. "Within weeks or months, we`ll see participation from companies in toys and office suppliers coming under UCCnet," says Dan Staresinic, UCCnet`s vice president of industry solutions, consumer products goods.

Staresinic notes that home improvement retailers, such as Ace Hardware Corp. and Lowe`s Home Improvement Centers, are also beginning to bring their industry under UCCnet`s web-based data integration and synchronization services, which help assure that trading partners use the same product codes and definitions to reduce costly errors in business documents and expedite the flow of goods.

"We`re getting beyond the early adopters," he says. UCCnet works with Commerce One Inc. and other technology companies to help retailers and their trading partners synchronize their product data.
