MEDIABIN ANNOUNCES INTEGRATION WITH MICROSOFT CONTENT MANAGEMENT SERVER 2002
ATLANTA, October 7, 2002 - MediaBin Inc. today announced the early availability of the MediaBin Content Connector™ for Microsoft .NET. The connector utilizes a new set of Web Services, built around the Microsoft .NET Framework, that enables Content Management Server 2002 users to easily access and publish approved digital assets from the MediaBin Asset Manager™ server. The integration streamlines the otherwise labor-intensive process of locating, placing and formatting image assets for Web publication. Companies can also better ensure proper brand and product representation over time by synchronizing renditions of images and documents published via Content Management Server with corresponding source assets managed within the MediaBin server.
By exposing MediaBin server functionality through .NET and XML Web Services, the MediaBin Content Connector for Microsoft .NET facilitates the integration of the MediaBin digital asset management platform with the entire Microsoft .NET Enterprise Server family. When combined with the Web content management capabilities of Content Management Server 2002 and the document management capabilities of Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, the integration creates a comprehensive Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution.
"One of the key benefits of integrating MediaBin`s digital asset management system with .NET Enterprise solutions is the assurance to corporate marketing groups that their brands will be represented correctly and consistently over time," said David Moran, president and CEO of MediaBin Inc. "MediaBin`s unique rendition management capabilities add clear value to Content Management Server 2002, while providing a model example of how digital asset management and Web content management systems should be integrated."
"The ability to speed Web site production and reduce time-to-market by automating the process of locating, placing and formatting digital assets is compelling to many of our customers," said Eric Swift, group product manager of .NET Enterprise Servers at Microsoft Corp. "The combination of Content Management Server 2002 and MediaBin enhances our content management solution by enabling customers to easily access and publish digital assets to their mission-critical Internet, intranet and extranet Web sites. The integration of digital asset management with the Web content management, document management and knowledge management solutions that Microsoft offers is seamless due to the support of XML, and customers will find the combination is easy to use and quick to deploy."
Prominent MediaBin customers that also use Microsoft Content Management Server include the Ford Division of Ford Motor Company and Microsoft Corporation.
