Endeca and iPhrase report strong first half

Site search technology provider Endeca Technologies Inc. has signed 24 retail customers in North America and Europe in the first half of this year, the company reports. The new customers include the Discovery Store, Oriental Trading Co., Overstock.com and The Wine Enthusiast. The company says all 24 are using Endeca’s InFront product that includes search, guided navigation and merchandising components.

“E-commerce is one of the hottest and most fiercely contested fronts in the search wars due to the proven ability of next-generation search, guided navigation and merchandising solutions to boost both conversion rates and overall sales,” said Steve Papa, CEO and chairman of Endeca.

Endeca’s customers include 1-800-Flowers.com, Brookstone, CDW, Crate & Barrel, Eddie Bauer, the Home Shopping Network, IBM, JC Whitney, and RedEnvelope.

Site search technology developer iPhrase Technologies reported a record first half, although the privately held company didn’t report specifics. It says it grew its customer base to more than 170 and added as new customers retailers Sephora, School Specialty, Campmor, eLuxury, Radio Shack, Thexton and Dell. New travel customers included Carnival Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean.

"We have made significant strides increasing and diversifying our customer base, building out the management team, growing our revenues, strengthening existing partnerships and building new ones, and shipping a product that is helping customers achieve lower costs and improve customer relationships,” said Dan Keshian, chairman and CEO.
