Online retail spending for the week ending July 11 barely inched ahead of spending for the corresponding week a year ago, growing only 1% to $815 million from $807 million a year ago, comScore Networks Inc. reports. The virtual lack of growth was the result of the July 4 holiday—which was observed on July 5—falling into this year’s reporting week, comScore says. The July 4 holiday was not part of last year’s reporting week.
Total retail sales for the week ending July 10 were up “a healthy” 11.3%, reports ShopperTrak’s National Retail Sales Estimate.
Online travel sales for the week ending July 11 were up 12% to $1.02 billion from $907 million for the corresponding week a year ago, comScore reports.
