Portfolio 2005.1 Features Expanded Workforce and Store Inventory Management Capabilities
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Jan. 17, 2005 -- JDA(R) Software Group Inc. (Nasdaq:JDAS) is launching the fourth synchronized release of JDA Portfolio(R) products at the NRF 94th Annual Convention and EXPO from Jan. 17-19 in New York City. JDA Portfolio 2005.1 features significant new capabilities voted upon by JDA`s global user community for merchandise operations, strategic merchandise management and store systems along with functional, technical, performance and integration enhancements. With the latest innovations in Portfolio Store Systems(TM), NRF participants can learn how to better manage their investment in inventory and labor as well as how to maximize every customer interaction at the JDA Solutions Pavilion (booth #723) and during scheduled presentations in the Microsoft Theater.

-- Portfolio Workforce Management(TM) 2005.1 -- JDA made significant enhancements to nearly every module of this product proven to deliver fast ROI. From its new Java scheduling engine to improved flexibility and accuracy with forecasting and payroll processing, the tens of thousands of PWM users will have better capabilities and information available at their fingertips.
-- Portfolio POS(TM) 2005.1 -- Java-based Portfolio POS (PPOS) delivers broad functionality such as advanced POS and cash register management, real-time enterprisewide inventory visibility, a powerful pricing engine and robust product and customer look-up. JDA has added new functionality in PPOS 2005.1 to help retailers minimize losses due to return fraud which are estimated to be approximately 1 percent of gross sales. PPOS 2005.1 also features new, advanced capabilities for gift receipts.
-- Portfolio BOS(TM) 2004.1 -- In December 2004 JDA expanded its Web Services suite of Portfolio Store Systems with the release of Portfolio BOS(TM), the back-of-store complement for PPOS. Also written in Java, PBOS offers the same user-friendly interface and intuitive screen flow as PPOS, making it as easy to use as a register when managing inventory movement in the store.
-- Win/DSS(R) 2005.1 -- Relied upon by many of its Portfolio Merchandise Management(TM) customers seeking a synchronized host-to-POS offering, JDA delivered several new functional, technical and integration enhancements to its Microsoft Windows-based product.

JDA Customers Drive Latest Enhancements in Portfolio 2005.1
In addition to advancements to Portfolio Store Systems, Portfolio 2005.1 includes the first releases of PortfolioEnabled(TM) products now available on the Microsoft .NET platform as well as advancements to its merchandise operations and strategic merchandise management products. JDA customers can also take advantage of new consulting services, support and education offerings to ensure that every user in their organization gains maximum benefit from their JDA investment.

Improve Performance without Costly Upgrades: Portfolio Merchandise Management
JDA delivered 28 major functional, technical and integration enhancements within the 2005.1 versions of its Portfolio Merchandise Operations products that support corporate inventory control and transaction processing.
Customers of Portfolio Merchandise Management(TM) system, which runs in an open environment on an Oracle 10 database, will benefit from enhancements in Portfolio 2005.1 even if they are not on a recent version. The PMM 2005.1 enhancement package features an additional 46 screen and workflow improvements for use on as many as nine former versions of PMM without having to perform costly upgrades.
Customers of Portfolio Merchandise Management System-I(TM), which runs on the IBM iSeries environment, will value the extensive enhancements made to shorten the nightly operational processing in MMS 2005.1. JDA also made functional enhancements to MMS 2005.1`s Inventory Control, Sales Audit, Accounts Payable and General Ledger modules.
Manage Products from Concept to Shelf: Portfolio Strategic Merchandise Management

JDA also made a number of enhancements to support the Global Location Number standard governed by the Uniform Code Council (UCC) and the EAN International organizations, including the Electronic Commerce Council of Canada (ECCC).
Category Management for Manufacturing
-- To help CPG companies more easily create planograms for each retailer partner, JDA added significant new features in Intactix Knowledge Base(TM) 2005.1. Now manufacturers can efficiently store planograms for multiple retailers on a single IKB database while maintaining each retail partner`s version of the planogram, product, and performance records.
Portfolio Allocation & Replenishment
-- As announced on Jan. 13, 2005, JDA will release Portfolio Replenishment Optimization by E3(R) (PRO(TM)) 2005.1. One of the first new PortfolioEnabled products, PRO provides the next generation in precision demand chain optimization for retailers and their trading partners who require support for sophisticated logistics and planning management.
-- Portfolio 2005.1 also contains more than 30 of the highest voted enhancements from the Advanced Replenishment by E3 special interest groups. -- In December 2004, JDA commercially released the new Advertising and Promotion Management(TM) 2004.3.0. Advertising and Promotion Management 2004.3.0 can help companies determine the right promotional offer while performing price editing capabilities and what-if analysis to simulate promotional lift and gross margin impact. The new version, Advertising and Promotion Management 2005.1, features additional analytic capabilities and technical certification.

Portfolio Advanced Optimization and Business Intelligence
