LAS VEGAS -- December 6, 2002 -- SuperPawn, the largest privately owned pawn operation in the United States launched PAM (PRIMA Auction Manager) this week. This software has been fully integrated into SuperPawn`s existing point-of-sale system, which allows the user to dramatically increase efficiency and productivity in posting listings on eBay.
The API agreement received from eBay earlier this year allows SuperPawn stores to use its proprietary point-of-sale system named PRIMAä (Pre-owned Retail Internet Management Analysis), to send an item to eBay the moment it becomes available for sale. PAM was created to automate the manual process of managing an eBay listing.
"Other companies may have access to the API, but if they don`t have the supporting technology, like PAM, they will never be as efficient or utilize the relationship with eBay to its fullest capability" commented Marco Herrera, the chief information officer for SuperPawn. PAM allows each of the company`s Internet experts to manage thousands of auctions simultaneously rather than dozens. In fact, procedures that used to take 20 minutes are now completed in less than one minute.
PAM integrates into the stores’ operating system, PRIMA™, allowing existing pawn data to be leveraged in the auction transaction and create a simple interface for posting and managing eBay auctions. PAM includes email management as well as full integration into superpawn.com website and POS fulfillment. Customers can log into the superpawn.com web site to pay for their auction item, which will then be packed and shipped from the corresponding store.
PRIMA is a state-of-the-art collateral loan and point-of-sale system designed and developed by SuperPawn to out-perform any other system in the sales and evaluation of pre-owned merchandise. It has a simple, yet powerful interface written for Microsoft Windows, and uses Microsoft SQL Server as the back-end database for speed and versatility.
In-store product experts utilize PRIMA`s extensive product knowledge to evaluate pre-owned merchandise and also to share their expertise throughout the family of stores. PRIMA currently has detailed product information on more than 200,000 models of manufactured goods. PRIMA is also linked to law enforcement agencies to ensure that items that the company accepts are legitimate.
Steve Mack, SuperPawn`s owner, has been the driving force in developing proprietary system solutions for not only managing the day-to-day core business, but also in positioning the company to become a major factor in Internet sales of pre-owned merchandise. Steve Mack represents four generations in the pawnshop business. His vision has led SuperPawn to the forefront of the industry by a credo of loaning more, giving great value and offering a high level of customer service. SuperPawn has 42 locations throughout Nevada, Washington and Arizona. The company`s website, SuperPawn.com allows Internet users to access of over 200,000 items.
